Baluchuri
Baluchari is a type of exquisite silk saree that originated in the village of Baluchar in the Murshidabad district of West Bengal, India. Known for their intricate and elaborate designs, Baluchari sarees are now primarily woven in Bishnupur and feature pictorial motifs on the pallu (anchal) depicting scenes from mythology, history, and social life. The revival of the craft in the 20th century led to the use of the more modern jacquard technique, while the original hand-woven jala method was used in earlier times.
