Bangladesi Dhakai
"Dhakai" refers to the traditional Dhakai Jamdani, a type of handloom saree from Dhaka, Bangladesh, made from fine cotton (historically called muslin). It is known for its intricate, hand-woven patterns created by adding supplementary weft threads with fine bamboo sticks, making it appear as if the designs are floating on the surface. This art form was recognized by UNESCO as part of Bangladesh's intangible cultural heritage in 2016.
