Jamdani
Jamdani is a fine, handwoven muslin textile from Bengal, known for its intricate patterns woven directly into the fabric. This labor-intensive process uses a discontinuous weft technique to embed motifs like flowers and geometric shapes, creating designs that appear to float on the fabric. Historically a symbol of royal status, Jamdani continues to be a significant part of Bengali cultural heritage, most commonly seen in the production of elaborate sarees.
